Digital Phase Converters
The digital phase converter is the newest concept in phase converters. They are completely electronic and non-mechanical in their design. They use what we call a microprocessor which controls the solid state switching components. Within the microprocessor is a special software that is used to control it. This in turn monitors the phase conversion process which is constantly adjusting the input and output mode of the digital phase converter. It is supposed to give a balanced three phase power output. Most digital phase converters create a single voltage with a rectifier and an inverter. Then the single voltage is added to the two legs of the single phase power source which in turn creates the third leg of power which makes three phase power.
