Static Phase Converters

The static phase converter has been around in the phase converter industry the longest. They were one of the first phase converters designed to give you three phase power. However, they do not actually change single phase power into three phase power. All they basically do for your equipment is generate a third phase electrical power current for mere seconds during the start up of your equipment. This in turn forces your equipment to run on single phase power during the rest of the operation. This can become very dangerous as damage may result in your equipment with burn-up.

The static phase converters usually do well with the start-up of smaller, less powerful equipment such as small milling machines, mixers, bench grinders, drill presses, etc.  If your equipment needs to run on three phase power during the complete duration, then the static phase converter is not the phase converter to use.
